Story: one week before i decided to do the one song performance. I had been very busy with remaking the song cruisecontrol and felt happy with the endresult. The day before my stomach went into shitty bang bang...
Saturday i felt okay, not too nervous. My good friend Attie joined me and filmed the performance. When we arrived in Utrecht, Attie payed for the parkingspace, then some guys came to me and started to ask me questions about why i looked this way. These were not really friendly guys and with all the latest media stories about gaybashing in my head, i tried to stay as friendly as possible. I told them that i had to do a performance and that we were late, they asked where and then Attie came back and we wished them a nice evening and ignored them. These are the moments that i feel like i am an easy target.
The soundcheck went well, it was strange to hear my voice so loud, but it all sounded well! The cruisekittens were already in the house and they did their best to make me feel less nervous and they did it so well. People were coming in and soon it was crowded and steamy hot. I came on stage at 10 past one and was introduced by DJ VOLKSMENNER DDR. I came on stage and invited the cruisekittens to join me on stage and then asked DJ PARTIZAN to push the button... The performance went well, the only thing was that i couldn't here my own voice that well, so it was hard to control it. It was nice to see the crowd dancing and looking. I received compliments for my music, performance and look, so i had nothing to complain about. Also, on the dancefloor, people could look at my CRUISECONTROL movie... So it was a great night for me, i feel this creative flow, this kind of spirit guiding me on this path and it feels so good. There is more to come for sure...
